These lights can be bought multi-coloured, white or single colour. Multi-coloured lights are quite average, with only limited colours available. So, instead of buying the multi-coloured bulbs, you can go for LED clear Christmas lights and do the painting yourself.

  • Take away the LED clear Christmas lights bulb caps you want to paint. Do this by pulling the bulb caps gently from its cord using your forefinger and thumb.
  • Spread a newspaper on a big table or the floor. This will serve as your drying area.
  • Squeeze a small quantity of glass paint into a tiny, disposable cup or palette. Remember that only a small amount of glass paint will be required to colour each bulb, so it’s vital to only squeeze out a small squirt each to avoid paint drying. Otherwise, simply dip your paintbrush straight to the container of glass paint.
  • Since each bulb is small, relatively, you need to use a tiny paintbrush for coating. You can paint the whole bulb or just the tip for a more delicate colour. Avoid painting the bulb’s bottom.
  • Set each coloured bulb with its pointed part facing up on the newspaper after you’re done painting. Allow the bulbs to dry for about 30 minutes to an hour. When everything’s dry, reattach the LED clear Christmas lights bulb caps to its cord.
  • Only use a special paint meant for glass or light bulbs to paint the Christmas lights bulbs. Using the wrong type of paint could be unsafe which may cause fire or release hazardous fumes when heated.
